This is considered as an urgent and effective solution to the attraction of the international tourists to Vietnam in the context of the sharp fall in the tourism demand worldwide.
A group of long-term solutions towards the sustainable development of the Vietnam tourism sector will be deployed in 2009 such as the all-round implementation of the development of new tourist products, the intensification of the tourist promotional and advertising activities.
The progamme ‘Impressive Vietnam’ has received a positive response from the travel and transport businesses.
The businesses have developed tours earmarked for the international tourists from ASEAN, China, Japan, France – West Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
They have also offered a lot of different tours with popular prices to the domestic tourists.
According to the programme, the international and domestic tourists buying the package tours will receive the discounts of hotel rates and transport fares. The maximum discount level is up to 50%.
The initial statistics by the General Department of Tourism shows that the programme has attracted the participation of 80% of dwelling establishments including four or five stars hotels in big cities and famous tourism sites, and nearly 40 travel companies.
